OJOJONA // Honduras 2014

 Ojojona is a beautiful little pueblo in the outskirts of the city. I had never been here before until this trip.  Karen, one of my  best friends from college, came with us and we all had so much fun. I fell in love with a lot of the artwork they sell. They had little shops in every corner that were so fun to look at even if you didn't buy anything. I bought Isabella's first Honduran dress here. We went to this hole in the wall restaurant and I still remember how nice and friendly the lady that owned it was. Isabella loved walking around the square and watching this old man dance to some salsa music they had playing.

TATUMBLA // Honduras 2014

This trip was bittersweet. It would have been perfect if Stephen could have come but alas the man had to work like always. I am so sad he has missed a couple trips because of work but I am so proud of him and we know it will be worth it in the long run. It really is sad to me though that Isabella's first trip to Honduras was without her dad. We were there for three weeks. After looking at all the pictures I realized Isabella wore her straw hat everywhere. We really got our money's worth out of that one haha. 

Going home to me always feels like I never left. Marcela took some amazing shots this trip that really capture the feel of the little pueblo we live in. I also love that last picture she took of the attic in our house. It is such a cool place to hang out and just stare out the window and think about nothing and everything.  Tatumbla is such a special little corner in the world. Life there seems so calm, simple and happy. Everyone knows each other, people still ride horses and walk everywhere. The dirt roads are always packed with little children in their uniforms going or coming from school. I just love that place. They call each other comadre and compadre which is such an old hispanic tradition that is lost in so many places and I love it. I can close my eyes and easily picture my grandma sitting in her porch as she knits and listens to some slow old lady music and talks to the people walking on the road.

Oh Wil you are so funny! Oh Wil you are so dreamy!

We celebrated Isabella's first birthday in a little lake in Herriman, UT. We bought pesto sandwiches from Costco, had carrot cake made by the one and only Valeria (of course it had to be decorated with little animals) and had a pinata with TONS of candy Tia Raquel and Tio Jon made. The weather was perfect and it was a memorable day. We gave Isabella a banana for her birthday which she ate happily and loved and she got plenty of gifts from her family and friends. We were so grateful Kaori and Sam made it and Isabella had a little friend there. Wil and Isabella had their first bonding moments as they played on the railing and ran around.  Tia Marce gave her a little girl stroller she uses so much to walk her doll and stuffed animals around. My favorite was the children's Book of Mormon stories the Wrigths gave her. We read those every night. Thank you Kaori! We missed Tio Davidson who was in Brazil for some work and visiting family. Except for the fact that we decided to run a 10k that morning in Farmington which made us be super behind so we were over an hour late and our friends had to wait forever...the day was perfect. 

SEATTLE 2014

This trip was packed with so much stuff. We got to see so many family friends we love and introduce Isabella to her uncles, aunt, and great grandma. Taking her to a Mariners game was a must. We thought she might get bored since baseball games are so long. But she  had a blast. She loved it when all the fans yelled and she would lift up her little arms and yell with them. I think she won grandpa's heart that day;) She also got to meet Stephen's best friend Bryan that day. She screamed the whole way to the game and since traffic in Seattle is awful that was about 2 hours so I don't think Bryan was that captivated by Isa...
The zoo was Isabella's favorite of course. It was actually my favorite too. Seattle has THE best zoo. They have spent millions of dollars making it as close to the animals environment as possible. So when you walk around it feels like you are in the wild more than in a zoo. We did a lot of hiking and even road a Ferris to Whidbey Island. We got to meet Brooklyn our new niece and Isabella's only cousin! She is a beauty just like her mamma:)
Through the years I have come to appreciate what an amazing set of parents Stephen has. Cyndee and Glenn go above and beyond for their kids and daugthers in law. I am so blessed to be part of their family.
